On November 22, Grade 3 students from Les Petits Explorateurs alternative school in Longueuil
had the opportunity to visit SLAB Innovation's premises in Saint-Hubert. Indeed, these
elementary students are in the middle of carrying out robotics projects.
The purpose of this visit was to introduce young people to the application of robotics in
industrial environments as well as to promote skilled trades, such as machinist, industrial
designer, mechanical engineer and programmer in automation and robotics. It seems that the
young people as well as the accompanying parents really enjoyed this activity which was
allowed by a local engineering firm.
During this visit, the students saw the different operational steps of the company. From
mechanical assembly and programming to the pre-shipment test phase. Staff members were
available to explain to students the different stages of the work.
This educational visit to SLAB Innovation; It is an ideal opportunity to set new objectives for an
educational path, to rise interest in the trades necessary for the proper functioning of the
company and thus contribute to ensuring the succession in the field.
SLAB Innovation values the professions and know-how of its employees and strengthens the
interest of young people in the training that leads to them.
A big thank you to the project stakeholders, Noémie, teacher of the student group and Benoit
Slavinski, owner of the company, for dedicating their time to our young people, despite their
busy schedules.
This kind of initiative, hopefully, allowed young people to better understand their own project
and contribute to their motivation and school perseverance.
